Meeting You
[for Erin]
You saw me there (I saw you too but I never dreamed you'd noticed me) Your eyes were bright Like sky-rimmed stars (And my heart skipped -- a beat or two) You sat down, nonchalant (Upon my favourite chair across the way) And caught my eye A'purpose once or twice (But still I was afraid to stare) And later on My friend's friend came (Asking, in your name) Whose was I, (if aught) And sure was I surprised You'd noticed me (I saw you too but I never dreamed you saw me there)
