If I Have One Regret
If I have one regret, then it is this:
That somehow, since we parted long ago,
I think I have forgotten how to kiss.
It’s not as if I don’t remember bliss —
The song of sweet endorphins, well I know
If I have one regret, then it is this.
The burning flush of passion, I dismiss!
Away from me, all tender longings blow!
I think I have forgotten how to kiss.
But now and then, at times, I am remiss,
And, gazing in your stormy eyes below,
If I have one regret, then it is this.
Therefore, I pray you, take it not amiss
If, now and then, I let my feelings show;
If I have one regret, then it is this:
I think I have forgotten how to kiss.
